One of the main drivers that motivated us to focus on mental health and well-being is to better understand why people are absent [so] we can improve the environment in which people work and feel supported and engaged. The two days we had with you were incredibly useful and insightful. It was useful to develop my own understanding of mental health to underpin the work we’re doing. It was really helpful to create training materials for our managers and colleagues collaboratively. The subsequent staff survey on well-being and the work we’ve been doing on mental health since we met with you paint a pretty positive picture! We’re having very many more conversations about mental health and changing policies to reflect new thinking, so I’m really happy with the progress we’ve made.
